An attendant at the Rubio Canyon railway station at the foot of the Great Incline leading up to Echo Mountain. More people are seen under the station roof, possibly waiting for a car. The steep incline of the second rail can be seen on the left.
Pacific Electric owned and operated the Mt. Lowe Railway from 1902 to 1938, when it shut down.
