Text from newspaper caption: In City Jail for seven days awaiting hearing on his application for probation on a conviction of nonsupport, H. H. Van Loan, noted playwright, scenarist and short-story writer, yesterday took to his typewriter to relate his newest and unexpected experience. He went to jail Tuesday after his former wife, Mrs. Gertrude Van Loan, testified she had waited eight months for some financial aid from him for their daughter.
