William "Moose" Irwin in a boxing pose on a battleship possibly.
William Fletcher "Moose" Irwin or "Bill Irwin" joined the Navy at the age of 16 in 1929. He served on the U.S.S Chicago from 1929-1935. He was the fleet heavy weight boxing champ in the early 1930's. He left in 1935 to box professionally, probably in Los Angeles. He was part of the heavyweight division.
