A series of shopfronts on Hill Street in downtown Los Angeles. Marinello School of Beauty Culture, Gabrielleen Permanent Waving Machines, Pennington Millinery, Brooks, Boos Brothers Cafeteria, Clifton's, and Bank of America. Brooks is in the process of having a removal sale prior to their move to their Broadway location. Several automobiles are parked along the street.
Brooks on 5th and Hill by Pershing Square, opened March 6, 1925, and moved to Broadway near Seventh (644 Broadway) on October 25, 1935. They started their removal sale August 23, 1935. The new Broadway location was their first store to carry women's clothing.
