Isadore Edelstein, posed here with a bag in one hand and what appears to be a plane ticket in another. Former convict Isadore R. Edelstein was one of two survivors on a United Airlines plane that crashed into the Pacific Ocean on November 30, 1938. Five others passengers on the plane died at sea while Edelstein and the pilot, Capt. Charles Baldwin, remained in the cabin and were saved.
