"Osculate," "The Marker," "Anahuac" and "Upper Berth" rounding the far turn at Santa Anita Park with trees and and the San Gabriel Mountains in the distance.
Handwritten on negative: Santa Anita 3rd Race. Dec. 31, 1938.
Newspaper photo standalone caption: Spraying off the far turn for the home stretch where the real running will start are these thoroughbreds in the third race.
