In honor of serving twenty years with the Los Angeles Police Department, Captain D. L. Adams's friends and associates gifted him with a gold, platinum, and diamond studded badge. Captain David L. Adams submitted paperwork to retire from the Los Angeles Police Department in 1924, but then was made Chief of Police of Newport Beach in 1926. Captain D. L.
