British rower Ted Phelps raced Australian Bobby Pearce on September 1st on Lake Ontario, Canada. The race attracted a large crowd and followed Bobby Pearce’s Olympic title in Los Angeles the year before. Pearce beat Phelps in all three races, which earned him $5,000 cash and the world championship title.
