John C. Porter won and served as Mayor of Los Angeles from 1929-1933.
Some text from the document: "They feel that now is the time to put into practice their ideals for city government, when a man of integrity and with the highest moral standards has consented to become a candidate. Mrs. Algot Nordstrom is the first to perfect her plans for local headquarters in the vicinity of West Adams Street and La Brea Avenue. Women who are interested are asked to register with local workers or to call at Porter headquarters in the Hayward Hotel.
