Rumanian Pair Stop on Way North." Los Angeles Times, 9 Oct. 1932: I3. Prince Georges Ghika, of Poland, and Princess Marie Anne Olypme Ghika on the passenger liner Wisconsin upon their arrival in Los Angeles from Le Havre. The pair is standing next to the ship railing with a life preserver with the name of the ship partially visible. A ship lamp appears in the background between them. They departed on the ship for Vancouver the evening of the day the photograph was taken. The Ghica family was a Romanian noble family, active in Wallachia, Moldavia and in the Kingdom of Romania. Princess Marie Anne Ghika (born Anne Marie Chassaigne) was a famous French courtesan and dancer known by the name Liane de Pougy.
