The Stephensons sailed on the Monterey to American Samoa where Commander Stephenson would be in charge of public health. Commander Charles S. and Naomi A. Stephenson onboard the ship, Monterey. They stand on a shuffleboard floor. Charles wears a double breasted suit and holds a hat in his hands behind his back. Naomi wears a long dark belted coat, hat, and a spray of flowers on her coat.
