Lorenzo C. Close points to his handprint on the Elks Lodge and Milton R. Standish stands by him. Next to his handprint, it reads, "Our Exalted Ruler Extends the Hand of Welcome to all Visiting Elks." A sign hanging on the pillar reads, "Delegates Register Inside!" Standish wears a ribbon that reads, in part, "State Elks Association. Santa Monica, 1935."
