Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Portrait of Petra and Francisco Rangel, married for 67 years and oldest residents of San Gabriel. They are seated outside of their home (227 S. Mission Dr.), Francisco in a wicker chair. Petra wears a long floral dress, shawl with floral embroidery and hair comb. Francisco wears striped trousers and a wool jacket and holds a cane. They were married at the San Gabriel Mission in 1868. Petra's grandmother, Eulalia Guillen (1768-1878), was the keeper of the keys, mayordoma, of the Mission church in the 1820's.
