View of the Olvera Street memorial service for Los Angeles Times columnist Harry Carr. Foreground mourners are gathered beneath a canvas tarp with others in the background holding umbrellas. The Chito Montoya stringed orchestra plays as a man (perhaps the tenor Manuel Pedraza) sings into a microphone (for KMTR radio). A tall man holding a piece of paper stands on the right with Mexican community leader Consuela De Bonzo (who owned the restaurant Casa La Golondrina at 17 Olvera St.), in a black lace shawl beside him. Behind her, in a trench coat and glasses, is Ernesto A. Romero, Vice-Consul for Mexico in Los Angeles.
