Rufus von Kleinsmid was the president of the University of Southern California (USC). Yamato Ichihashi taught at Stanford University. General Ting-Hsiu Tu, from Nanking, China, was a liaison officer between China and the film company producing "The Good Earth." Herbert H. Gowen taught at the University of Washington.
