[One of three photos with title: "Grief-Stricken Parents Feverishly Await News of Lost Child," Los Angeles Times, 17 Dec. 1927: A8] Marion Parker was kidnapped from her school by William Edward Hickman on December 15, 1927. Her remains were retrieved by her father two days later - just moments after exchanging $1500 in ransom for Marion whom he presumed was still alive. Hickman was tried in January of 1928 and sentenced to death. He was executed at San Quentin, October 19, 1928.
