McAdoo (California senator), Walter J. Braunschweiger (banker), Patrick Gordon Taylor (Australian aviator), Charles Kingsford Smith (Australian aviator), P. G. B. "Bud" Morriss (American aviator), and Frank Shaw (Los Angeles mayor). The banquet table is decorated with a leafy swag and mound of flowers. The national flags of Australia (left) and the United States (right) frame the guests. Australian pilot Charles Kingsford Smith arrived in Los Angeles, with his navigator, Patrick Gordon Taylor on November 5, ending a journey from Brisbane. Taylor left Los Angeles on the night of the 6th. In a photograph in the Los Angeles Times, Taylor is seen wearing the same suit and necktie (5 Nov. 1934: 1). The banquet probably took place on the 5th. Handwritten on negative: Wm. G. McAdoo, Walter J. Braunschweiger, P. G. Taylor, Chas. Kingsford-Smith, P. G. B. Morris, Frank Shaw. Text from negative sleeve: McAdoo, William Gibbs
