Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Several women were overcome by gas fumes from leaking pipes while sewing on a WPA project at 1108 West Thirty-fifth Street. Those who were not treated on scene were taken to Georgia-Street Receiving Hospital where they were effectively treated. The five patients lie on hospital beds, fully clothed. One woman has a rag resting on her forehead, and Nurses Stuart and Partin attend to another woman, giving her an oxygen mask.
