Guests come by 2332 Fourth Avenue, the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Sheets, to view the miniature snow-covered rural landscape surrounding their Christmas tree which was built by Mr. Sheets "to remind easterners in California that we don't have to fight snow like we used to."
Photograph appears with the article, "Christmas Tree Scene Popular," Los Angeles Times, 28 Dec 1935: A3.
The tinseled and lighted tree of the Sheets' home is surrounded at its base by a miniature landscape complete with tiny trees, livestock, houses, a train and lots of snow.

Text from newspaper caption: Friends are still visiting the home of M. B. Sheets to see the reproduction of an eastern countryside in winter without the actual snow, which he constructed as a setting for his Christmas tree. He built it to remind former easterners now living here of their snow-shoveling days during the holiday season back home.
