Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. There were more than 5000 bulbs that illuminated Santa Rosa Avenue trees that were planted in the summer of 1885; the trees have been decorated with the holiday lights since 1920. Photograph appears with the article, "Twenty Thousand See Yuletide Tree Spectacle," Los Angeles Times, 26 Dec 1935: A1. Hundreds of thousands of lights of various sizes shine while the branches of the decorated trees loom over the road. Text from negative sleeve: 4220 - 12/26/35 Christmas Tree Lane -1935- 12/25/35
