Text from negative sleeve: 181. Ash Creek, California. About 1916. Driving at night to Owens Valley, we thought we had arrived at Cottonwood Creek and made camp. In the morning we found we had camped at Ash Creek. Al Schmitz, Wilfrid Cline and Glen Velzy. H. H. West's Buick. Al is starting fire to get breakfast. 2 negatives.
