Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Frances Cline and Frances West were about 8 and 6 years old, respectively, in 1912. They look older than that in this photograph. Photograph, from left to right, of Frances Cline and Frances West wading in the Big Tujunga Creek. Frances West stands ankle-deep water in the foreground at right. She holds a rectangular metal container in one hand and is dressed in a dark-colored skirt and white blouse. Behind her, a boulder juts out from the right. Frances Cline stands in thigh-high water towards the center of the photograph. She holds her plaid-printed skirt up to keep it dry. A boulder lies behind her to the left. Text from negative sleeve: 200. Big Tejunga [sic], Calif. 1912. Bessie McGee Velzy and Mrs H. H.
