Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Guy Mansberger, Keeper for the Cazadores Gun Club, kneels down over several dead ducks as he butchers them. He looks to the camera and crouches down; one hand is raised in motion and the other rests on a duck. He wears striped overalls, a white shirt and a hat. In front of him, a narrow wooden plank runs horizontally across the image with a pile of dead ducks lying in front of and to the right of him. Lying on the ground at left, there is a small wooden box with "S" painted on it. At far left on the planks, there is a bag. Behind Mr. Mansberger in the distance, there is a chicken coop on the left and a barn (partial view) stands on the right. Text from negative sleeve: 302. Cazadores Gun Club. About 1912. Three pictures of our Keeper, Guy Mansberger. He left the club about 1915 and I heard he had gone to Hemet, California, and opened a store. Might have been San Jacinto. 3 negatives.
