Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Guy Mansberger, Keeper for the Cazadores Gun Club, kneels on the ground near several chickens roaming about. He faces towards the left with one leg kneeling to the ground and the other propped up and bent at the knee. On arm reaches back in motion behind him and the other rests on the knee of his propped up leg. Several chickens are gathered to the left of him. To the right of him, a narrow, slightly elevated, wooden plank stretches from the lower right up towards the middle where it terminates at a shed or outhouse that stands directly behind Guy. In the foreground, a square wooden post rises right-of-center. Wires hang from it and a couple lines extend from it horizontally to the left. A cow stands in the far distance at left. This image is subject to lens flare; a few orbs are visible on the left side of the photograph. Text from negative sleeve: 302. Cazadores Gun Club. About 1912. Three pictures of our Keeper, Guy Mansberger. He left the club about 1915 and I heard he had gone to Hemet, California, and opened a store. Might have been San Jacinto. 3 negatives.
