Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph, from left to right, of Guy Mansberger and Mat Everhardy posing for a photograph while they clean ducks. Guy kneels behind several ducks lying on the ground in front of him. He rests one knee to the ground and the other is placed with his foot flat to the ground and knee bent. One arm dangles at his side and the other rests on his one raised knee. Next to him, Mat stands with both hands at his sides; his left hand grasps a white towel. Directly behind them, a narrow, wood-planked walkway extends horizontally. Long shadows of the men and another person are cast on the ground in the direction of the left-hand corner of the photograph. Behind the men, a few huts stand. The framework for a structure stands in the distance between the two men. Text from negative sleeve: 307. Cazadores Gun Club. About 1912. Matt Everhardy, a wholesale Meat man. Also ran the Palace Market in Los Angeles. Doc Hardin always called him "The Big Prussian." Drove a Stearns-Knight car. Sitting in the Stearns Knight. Standing beside Keeper Mansberger who is cleaning Matt's ducks. 2 negatives.
