Mrs. H. H. West (Mary Adelbert Teel West Shepard) was H. H. West's first wife and the mother of Elizabeth and Frances West.
H. H. West, his wife, and daughters sit in a tree in Chatsworth Park (now called Chatsworth). Both girls wear white outfits and dark tights. West wears a suit and holds a cigar. Mrs. West wears boots and has her ankles crossed. There are mountains in the background and grass in the foreground.
Though the negative sleeve dates this photograph as about 1910, West's daughters appear to be older than four and seven, as they would have been in 1910, so the date has been estimated to be circa 1915.
Text from negative sleeve: Chatsworth Park, Calif. About 1910. L to R: Mrs H. H. West, Elizabeth West, H. H. West, Frances West.
