Mrs. George M. West (Wilhelmina Lemberger West) was H. H. West's mother. Mrs. H. H. West (Mary Adelbert Teel West Shepard) was H. H. West's first wife and the mother of Elizabeth and Frances West. Nella A. West was H. H. West's sister.
H. H. West's mother, wife, daughters, and sister eat a picnic in Chatsworth Park (now called Chatsworth). All five sit on the ground. There is a picnic blanket in front of them covered with fruit, thermoses, and boxes. There is a coat draped over a large tree that is behind them.
