Photograph of Mary A. West, Frances West, Wilhelmina West and Elizabeth West posing for a photograph around the group's parked automobile en route from Olancha to Little Lake. The car is viewed from the side with the front of the car facing left. Mary West sits in the front of the vehicle; the steering wheel is just to the left of her. The rest of the group gathers at the back of the vehicle. Wilhelmina West stands in the tonneau with her body turned to the right and her head turned towards the camera. Frances West is just to her left and is only partially visible as she peeks behind Wilhelmina. Elizabeth West stands on the ground in front of the rear tire and below Wilhelmina and Frances. She holds shrubbery from the surrounding landscape in her hands and looks directly to the camera. The car is laden with travel gear that is piled up on the running board near the front tire and attached to the rear of the vehicle. The group and the car are surrounded by shrubbery; brush grows in front of the side of the car. Hills occupy the background.
Olanche is the former name of Olancha, California in Inyo County.
