Photograph of the Velzy's sleeping quarters, pitched alongside Convict Creek. The "bedroom" is situated at the center of the photograph. It is open on the sides and is covered by a canopy. The canopy over the site is anchored to the ground and propped up with a large stick on the leftmost corner, tied with string around a tree at center and anchored to rocks at right. Under the canopy, a bed sits low to the ground and extends from the open side of the "bedroom" on the left towards the rocks at right. On the right, boulders are in a pile. Clothes lie and hang around the campsite. Jackets hang from the tree at center, a shirt hangs off the right side of the canopy, clothes lie on the rocks and a shirt hangs from tree branches in the upper right corner. A person's shadow is cast in the lower left corner.
Text from negative sleeve: 356. Convict Lake, 1915. Glen Velzy and wife make their bed in the rocks right alongside of Convict Creek. Bessie Velzy and Elizabeth West in rear. Another picture of the bedroom. 2 negatives.
