Charles Stavnow, Glen Velzy and Wilf Cline went with me in my Buick to Taboose Creek to fish for trout. We came back a little way from Taboose and fished on Goodall[sic] creek, and in turning the car among the rocks, we unknowningly[sic] broke off the drain plug to the crank case, and lost all the oil, finally burning out a bearing right in front of the Cottonwood Creek power plant. Went to power plant and foned[sic] Los Angeles for new bearing, and phoned Pete Aigner; garage man at Lone Pine to get bearing and come down and fix us up which he did the next morning. We had to camp r right on the desert by the road. L to R: Wilf Cline. Glen Velzy. Chas Stavnow. Cottages of power house employees can be seen in rear. 2 negatives.
