Photograph of the clubhouse for the Alamo Gun Club near Quail Lake. It sits back behind tall grasses and in front of trees. The clubhouse is a ranch style dwelling with a front porch on the right. A scarecrow stands to the right of the house and a ladder is propped up against the right side of the house. A tractor sits in the background at left.
Text from negative sleeve: 388. Crane Lake, Bailey's Ranch, 1910-1015. Ten of us had a lease on Crane Lake (shows as Quail Lake on the Government maps) on Bailey Ranch, near Tejon pass from 1910 to 1915. When lease expired the ranch had been sold to the General Petroleum Company who would not renew. The members of the Alamo Gun Glub, as we called ourselves, were Ed Featherstone, Will MacNider, Fred Gilmer, Dave F. Smith, H.H.West, Waller Chanslor, Roger Stearns, August Morrow, Gene Parker, Harry Becker. Harry Becker bilt[sic] the little club house in the willows at the west end of the lake, for around $1000.00. We all put up $250.00 each and Bailey took all above cost of club house and blinds for his rental. We had the very best canvasback shooting in the State. 2 photos of the club house and H.H.West's Buick.
