Photograph of a snow-covered mountain in the distance near Scotty's Springs, taken during a trip to Division Creek. Low brush covers the ground in the foreground. A utility pole stands at left in front of a hillside.
Text from negative sleeve: 414. Division Creek, between Independence and Big Pine. 1916. Chet Edgell, owner of garage at Independence wired me October 1, 1916 heavy fall of snow; big bucks down on flat. Come up for deer. Went to Independence on train. Chet met me with an old delapidated[sic] Peerless truck and we drove up Scotty's Springs, head of Division creek, above the Los Angeles Power Plant. We camped under the pipe line, in some willows, in the snow. Our camp behind the pipe line. Chet Edgell looking over the pipe. 2 films of Scotty's Springs, just above us. Snow way down on hills. 3 negatives.
