This appears to be Boston's Public Garden rather than Boston Common as the negative sleeve states.
Men play ice hockey on a frozen pond in the Public Garden. The men wear hats and suits. People stand on a bridge over the pond watching the men play. There are trees in the background. There are light streaks at the bottom of the negative.
Text from negative sleeve: 424. Eastern trip, 1914. Massachusetts. Boston and vicinity. 12 pictures of skaters on the ice in the ponds on the Common in Boston. One of these is the celebrated "Frog Pond" that the school boys used to skate no during the revolution, and General Gage's soldiers broke the ice so they could not skate, and a delegation of boys called on General Gage and complained and he stopped the breaking of the ice. 12 negatives.
