Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. View of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges from the Woolworth Building. The cityscape of Manhattan is visible in the foreground and the cityscape of Brooklyn is in the background. The East River stretches in between. The negative is quite dark and has scratches on it. Text from negative sleeve: 448. East. New York. 1917. Very poor film of the two bridges over the East River toward Brooklyn. Probably taken from the Woolworth Tower, up which I went. Wind blowing a gale. The tower swayed, and outside of the little tower on the cat walk it brought your heart to your throat.
