Photograph of the Washington family tomb at Mount Vernon as viewed from the ground. The tomb entrance stands at center. It has a brick, ivy-covered facade with an archway. A wrought-iron gate stands in the archway. Two sarcophagi are visible behind the gate. Sightseers stand on either side of the gate. Two women walk away from the tomb on the left and a man and a woman stand with their backs to the camera and look into the tomb on the right. A wrought-iron gate runs along the right edge of the image.
