Photograph, from left to right, of H. H. West, Jr. and Mertie West sitting on a snow-covered stack of rocks adjacent to a large rustic-style home. They sit in the distance and H. H. West, Jr. appears to be eating a block of snow. They sit on the side of the house. The house is constructed mostly of rocks. A set of steps leading up to the side of a porch stands to the left of H. H. West, Jr. A sign under the roof's eave reads, "BILTMORE." The house extends to the right and out of frame. Snow blankets the landscape.
