Frances West smiles to the camera as she rides atop a donkey (partial view) through Orchard Camp past the Halfway House about halfway between Mount Wilson and Sierra Madre. Her donkey faces right and she turns her head to look to the camera. She holds onto the horn of the saddle. Behind her on the right, the Halfway House at Orchard Camp stands in partial view. Under the roof of a building, it reads, "O[R]." A smaller sign on the forward extending side of the building reads, "ORCHARD CAMP [... ?]."
