John C. (Clinton) Porter (1871-1959) served as the Mayor (33rd) of the City of Los Angeles from 1929 until 1933.
Mayor John C. Porter stands just left-of-center and gazes off towards the left while attending the Western Union Reunion at J. C. Sherer's home in Glendale. A bench enters the frame at left and extends behind Porter at center. The estate grounds are visible behind him. The shadow of a person is cast in the lower right corner.
