Wee Kirk o' the Heather with trees surrounding it. The doors of the church are open. A sign in front reads, "Wedding in progress church and grounds reserved for guests only." In the background, there is a tower with a cross on top. At the top left of the negative, there is a black square.
Text from negative sleeve: 529. Glendale, Calif. April 4, 1939. Wedding of Samuel C. Longstreet and Cosette Pohle, about 5:30 p.m. Sam Longstreet was the son of Charles Longstreet of Red Oak, Iowa. Charlie, or "Chad" as we called him, was my playmate in Red Oak about 1880-1886. The Longstreets lived in the house next west of us and as there were several children in each West and Longstreet family, we were always together. I happened to see the notice in a Los Angeles paper of the wedding to take place in Los Angeles, Church of the Heather Forest Lawn. I went out and took photos unbeknown to anyone. Sent copies to Charlie in Red Oak and got a great kick out of it. Church of the Wee Kirk of the Heather. The cross being erected for Easter can be seen in right side of photos. 2 negatives.
