Text from negative sleeve: 549. Gardner Creek trip, about 1919. The little meadow where we first camped was soggy from water from above, and we moved over into the rocks. My green balloon silk tent at the new camp. I am cooking trout. Velzy with pipe and Charlie Stavnow in rear. Trout in the pan. Plenty of them. Cleo Swain on a log near camp trying out his rifle. We got no deer, or bear. There was an ice cold spring near camp and I put n a piece of bark so as to fill the pails, etc. So cold it cracked your teeth. 5 negatives.
