Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. H. H. West's green tent is pitched in the center of the image in front of a tree. It sits on the edge of Bullfrog Lake. The opposite bank is lined with trees and stretches across the image. In the distance, mountains rise. Text from negative sleeve: 553. Gardner Creek trip, about 1919. We get to Bullfrog lake and go into camp. It starts to rain. 2 negatives xxx [crossed out] making camp. Two negatives of my green tent set up on the edge of Bullfrog lake. It commenced to sleet and ice sagged the tent and finally tore it badly where it wasin[sic] the tree. It was cold. Had hard time start a fire, account everything wet. Finally got some supper and glad to get inside the tent out of the cold and rain. Next day was fine. Charlie Stavnow fishing Bullfrog lake. 5 negatives
