Text from negative sleeve: 562. Convict Lake - Gull Lake, about 1920. The little stream between Gull and June lakes could be hopped across. Full of big 4 and 5 lb trout coming up to spawn. Would not take baits. We made spears of pine branches and speared them in the bends of the creek along the bank. Brown trying to spear a trout under the bank. 2 pictures of Brown with the trout we were catching. About 25 lbs of trout. 3 negatives
A blurred photograph of Jesse Brown crouching over a stream that runs between Gull and June Lakes to spear a trout. He is on the left and faces towards the left. The stream is to his left and then arcs behind him to the right. Tall, dry shrubbery stands on the opposite side of the stream behind him to the left. Grasses stretch across the background at right to the base of a snowy slope side.
