Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. View of a cliff face in the Grand Canyon with H. H. West's automobile visible at the bottom of the photograph. Text from negative sleeve: 576. Grand Canyon trip, May 1942. Two pictures of Weeping Spring. In 1924 I was in Zion with the Clines (see pictures taken on Utah trip). Near Weeping Spring was a cable from valley floor to the top of the mesa, handling freight and passengers. Clarence Cline made a round trip. On this Grand Canyon trip the cable and pulley on the valley floor were gone, but here is a photo of the cliff, and at the top, on the flat top at the upper left may be seen the pulley and scaffolding where the cable went over. 5 negatives
