E. M. Buckius stands at right and faces towards the man standing at left. His hand is lifted towards the camera as he talks. His shirt reads, "P · [...]ERMOSA." The unknown man at left stands with his back to the camera. Other beachgoers sit on the sand at left behind the two men. In the distance, storefronts stand in the background at right. Signage on one of the businesses reads, "[F]EATUREING [...] AFFLES, T [...] ODA FOUN." In the bottom margin of the negative, it reads, "8-3-29." Text from negative sleeve: 580. Hermosa Beach, Calif. About 1932. E.M.Buckius President of the Industrial Supply Co., Third and San Pedro Sts., Los Angeles, Calif. gave a picnic for his employees at Hermosa Beach. We drove down in all sorts of cars.
