Text from negative sleeve: Acton, Calif. About October 1906. Guy West, H.H.West and Charles Davis, who was Western Agent for G and J Tire Co. Indianapolis, Indiana, took S.P. train to Acton one night. Staid[sic] at the hotel all night. Got a rig next morning at livery stable and went out quail hunting. Charles Davis, with my automatic 12 gauge gun. Davis at edge of field looking for quail. Davis feet hurt. Takes off his shoes. Davis sees a bottle by the canteen and hunches along on his belly to get it. 4 negatives
