Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. A photograph of a photograph of Guy West riding in a suspended lift over and across the Alamo River near Brawley. He sits on a framed-out seat that hangs from a pulley system over the Alamo River. His back rests against one of the transport's vertical beams as he faces towards the left. His hands are in front and above him operating the cables to pull him across the river. A rucksack sits in front of him and a few tethered birds hang from the left side of the transport. The Alamo River occupies the lower two-thirds of the image. The far bank of the river is formed by a low cliffside that stretches across the background at an angle. Text from negative sleeve: 587. Imperial Valley, hunting, 1906. Guy West on the trolley over the Alamo River just east of Brawley, where we camped. Our party was Guy West, Will Mead, H.H.West, F O.Nelson and his father. Nelson's father is cooking a mess of quail in a little Kamp Kook Kit I had. A swell feed. 2 negatives
