His legs are outstretched in front of him as he rests on a propped up elbow. The interior of the tent is strewn with blankets and boxes. A wooden crate sits in the foreground at center. The tent is canopied over Joe. Its sides hang behind him and on the right. Text from negative sleeve: 592. Imperial Valley about 1908. Duck hunting. Joe Pike reclining in the tent. We wounded a couple mallards and tied them in an irrigation ditch for decoys. 2 negatives
