About 1900. May have been back as far as 1897. We used to catch the Redlands local out of Los Angeles Arcade depot at 8 a.m. Sunday, ride to Irwindale, just this side of Covina and get off and hunt quail and rabbits toward the mountains. Used to get fine hunting. Would come back to Irwindale and catch the Redlands train returning, which came thru Irwindale about 4:15 p.m. We all worked for the S.P. and had passes.
