Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph, from left to right, of brothers Webster Brain and Bob (Robert) Brain standing in an empty field as Webster Brain demonstrates how to shoot a bottle in the air. Both men have their backs to the camera. Webster stands nearest to camera left-of-center. He has his gun aimed towards the distance. Bob stands to the left of a shrub at right and leans towards the right. Some shrubbery dots the otherwise barren landscape in front of them. Text from negative sleeve: 606. Irwindale, Calif. About 1900. May have been back as far as 1897. We used to catch the Redlands local out of Los Angeles Arcade depot at 8 a.m. Sunday, ride to Irwindale, just this side of Covina and get off and hunt quail and rabbits toward the mountains. Used to get fine hunting. Would come back to Irwindale and catch the Redlands train returning, which came thru Irwindale about 4:15 p.m. We all worked for the S.P. and had passes. Webster (Web) Brain examining a rabbit. Web Brain showing his brother Bob Brain how to break a bottle in the air. Web Brain. 3 negatives
