Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. An informal group photograph, from left to right, of Forrest Whitaker, Mertie West, Josie Shaw and Agnes Whitaker standing in front of the Tahquitz Lodge in Idyllwild. The group stands in a row and all look to the camera, except for Josie Shaw; she gazes off towards the right. Tahquitz Lodge extends from left to right, at an angle, behind them. The porch and a door to the lodge are visible behind Forrest Whitaker at left. Trees seem to grow through the roof of the building behind Mertie West. A narrow, curved walkway stretches behind the group and in front of the lodge. It starts at left and curves up towards the right, parallel with the lodge. A cabin is visible in the background at right next to the lodge. A sign hanging off of the eave of the building behind the group reads, "[...]ITZ L[...]." Text from negative sleeve: 619. From Idyllwild we drove over to Keen Camp, and visited the Lodge there. Taken in front of Tarquiz Lodge, L to R: Forrest Whitaker with arm akimbo. Mertie West with folded arms. Josie Shaw. Agnes Whitaker. The girl at the Lodge offered to take a photo of us all. Not so good, but L to R: Forrest Whitaker. Agnes Whitaker. Mertie West. Josie Shaw. H.H.West. 2 negatives
